CHAMBERS BURIAL TAKES PLACE TODAY
Miss Nellie Perry, Affianced of the Deceased.
Comes to Funeral.
The funeral services over Robert Chambers, killed by lightning in
Colorado, Monday, will be held from the residence of his father, T.G.
Chambers, 115 East Sixth street, Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock.
The music will be furnished by the choir of the First Presbyterian church
under the leadership of Mrs. Adams. The pallbearers, school associates of the
deceased will be Everett Deff, Morris Burke, Don Burland, William Dowden of
Amarillo, Tex., Roscoe Walker and William Koehler.
Here to attend the funeral is Miss Nellie Perry, of Champaign, Ill.
who is affianced to young Chambers, she is accompanied by her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. E. H. Perry. The announcement of their betrothal had been made at
Champaign, where both were students in the University of Illinois, and was
know to close friends in this city.
After the funeral, Miss Perry will accompany Gavin Chamber, a brother of
the deceased, to London, where they will meet Mrs. T. G. Chambers, who
is at present in Bavaria, the news of her son's death having been kept from
her.
The courts of the county will adjourn during the services. The Bar
Association has sent a wreath of flowers to be laid on the casket, and, at a
meeting Thursday, appointed a committee to draft resolutions of sympathy for
the father, a leading attorney in the city. The Bar association will attend
the funeral in a body.
