D.G. Clevenger, beloved husband, father and grandfather, went
to be with our Lord Aug. 7, 2006. He was born Aug. 24, 1918 in
Waurika to David G. and Helen Elizabeth Clevenger. D.G. was
raised on a farm in Pauls Valley. He moved to the Oklahoma City
area in 1934 and had lived in Midwest City for the past 60
years. D.G. served three years overseas in the Army, 473AAA
Battalion, during World War II with an honorable discharge on
Dec. 16, 1945. He retired from Tinker Air Force Base in 1977
after 30 years. D.G. loved OU football and his Midwest City
Bombers. He was an avid gardener with beautiful flowers and
delicious vegetables.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Juanita Jo; daughter,
Regina; two sons, David Lee and wife, Jeanne, of Midwest City
and Jeff and wife, Tara, of Choctaw; four grandchildren, David
Neal, Courtney, Aimee and Cale Clevenger; four
great-grandchildren, James Lee, Kailee, Patrick and Grace;
sister, Eula Mae Hough of Norman; a special brother-in-law,
Kenneth Cox and wife, Joyce, of Carlsbad, N.M.; and many nieces,
nephews, cousins and friends. D.G. was a faithful charter member
of Eastside Church of Christ.
His service was held 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, 2006 at the
Eastside Church of Christ in Midwest City. Burial was at
Sunny Lane
Cemetery in Del City. In lieu of flowers, donations may be
made to Eastside Church of Christ Building Fund
