RITES PLANNED FOR CORNELIOUS
Former County Official And Democrat Leader Dies After Illness
Funeral services for Maynard Cornelious, 53 years old, former county official, will be conducted at 4 o'clock Monday afternoon
at the Hahn funeral home, 119 West Tenth street.
Cornelious died Saturday night following several weeks' illness at his home, 2231 West Nineteenth street. Burial will be in
Memorial park.
Cornelious came to Oklahoma from Kentucky in 1901. He moved to Oklahoma City from Mangum in 1902. He was elected register of deeds in 1912, holding the office four years, until his
election as county clerk. After two years in this office, he was with the internal revenue department of the United States
three years. Cornelious was county Democrat chairman in 1926.
His wife, a son, Robert, of the home address, a brother, Oren, of Plant City, Fla., and three sisters, Mrs Curry Sloss of
Woodward, Ky., Mrs Sam Plowers, Russellville, Ky., and Mrs Ermine Fort, of Fallon, Nev., survive.

Widow of Former County Clerk Dies
Mrs Margaret H. Cornelious, 54 years old, widow of a former
county clerk, died Friday of heart disease at her home, 1714
East Madison avenue. Her illness was sudden and
unexpected.
Mrs Cornelious had lived in Oklahoma City 29 years. Her
husband, M. Cornelious, an early county clerk, died in 1930.
Rev. W.Y. Durrett will conduct services from the Hahn
funeral home at 4pm Saturday. Burial will be in Memorial
Park cemetery.
She is survived by a son, Robert Cornelious, and a sister, Mrs Mary
L. Hooker, both of Oklahoma City.
