Couch, Charlie L ., 89, Choctaw, passed away July 16, 1994. Born September 22, 1904 at Choctaw, Ok, where he lived for 89 years. Charlie was a farmer until 1937 at which time he became employed by the Internal Revenue Service and was there for 30 years. Upon retiring at the IRS, he established the Charlie L . Couch Tax Service and worked there until his death. He joined the Choctaw Kiwanis Club in 1967 and had a perfect attendance record for 27 years. He served on the Board of Governors of Summit Ridge Retirement Center from its' inception.

On March 15, 1926 he married Delia Schisler. She preceded him in death in 1993.

Surviving him are three children, Wilma Jean Thiry, Choctaw, Ruth Marie Thiry, McLouth, Ks and Ronald Lee Couch , Eugene, Or; two sister s, Vera Wolfe, Jones, Ok and Lena Whitford, Harrah; one brother, Oscar Taylor of Ca; 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren. Services 9:00 a.m. Tuesday at Summit Ridge Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 18501 NE 63rd, Harrah, Ok. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery, Choctaw. Directed by Asa Smith Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Choctaw Kiwanis Club.

Couch, Delia I . Schisler , 87, Choctaw, died April 19, 1993 in Harrah. Mrs. Couch was born May 11, 1905, near Cherokee in Alfalfa County, Ok., the daughter of Henry and Viola Gassuer Schisler . She moved to Choctaw and graduated from Choctaw High School. She completed a business course in Oklahoma City and moved to a farm 4 1/2 miles northeast of Choctaw, where she lived the remainder of her life. Mrs. Couch was a member of the Choctaw Seventh Day Adventist Church, a pianist for the church for many years , and a Dorcus Society leader for 40 years. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting, playing the piano, and helping others. She taught piano lessons for 30 years. She babysat her great granddaughter for 4 years, until the time of her illness.

Survivors include her husband, Charlie L. Couch ; two daughters, Wilma Jean Thiry, Jones, and Ruth Marie Thiry, McLouth, Ks.; a son, Ronald Lee Couch , Eugene, Or.; a brother, Wayne Schisler , Cleburne, TX; a sister, Garnada Stotts, Oklahoma City; 9 grandchildren an d 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Elmer Louis. In lieu of flowers, send donations to Choctaw Community Center, Box 512, Choctaw, Ok. 73020. Services 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Summit Ridge Retirement Center, 18501 NE 63rd, Harrah, with interment at Elmwood Cemetery, Choctaw.
