Ida May Crouse Cunningham peacefully left this world to be
with the Lord on December 25, 2006. She was born on January 12,
1922 to Walter and Zena Crouse in Hillsdale, Oklahoma. Ida is
preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Herbert L.
Crouse and Lloyd Melvin Crouse. She is survived by one sister,
Hazel Smith of Enid, Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Ruth Crouse of
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Gordon, her loving husband of 59 years
of the home; sons, Mark Cunningham of Oklahoma City, Buddy
Cunningham and wife, Carol, of Mesquite, Texas; and daughter,
Marilyn Vanderlinde and husband, Rodney, of Luther, Oklahoma;
six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous
nephews and nieces. On April 5, 1947, Gordon and Ida were
married in Caldwell, Kansas. They lived in several small towns
surrounding Enid until they decided to settle in Enid, Oklahoma
where they stayed until 1971. Ida worked for the Bell Telephone
Company for a few years while living in Enid; then they
relocated to Edmond, Oklahoma where Ida worked in a day care
center in Edmond for a few years. Ida spent the majority of her
life being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and
great-grandmother. She was very active in the public school
system that her children attended, serving on various committees
for the PTO, homeroom mothers, Girl Scout and Boy Scout
organizations.
Mother, you will be missed deeply
and you will remain in our hearts
forever. We all love you very
much, but you are in Heaven,
and we will see you in time.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Interim
Hospice. Our deepest thanks go to the Hospice and the staff at
Bradford Village for their loving care of our wife, mother,
grandmother and great-grandmother.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December
28, 2006 at Baggerley Funeral Home Chapel with burial in
Gracelawn
Cemetery.
