| DUCKING CLUB ORGANIZED
- The daylight crew on the Hall-Briscoe, Inc., No. 1
Marion well across the street from the state capitol, has
organized the "Duck-in-the-Mud Club," into which
is initiated candidates for office who bother them. The
club was organized after each member of the crew took an
oath he would not become a candidate for any state office
- having seen so many examples of politics from across the
street. Members of the crew, left to right, are Jim
Lawton, driller; Tex Johnson, cathead man; Fred
Downs, derrickman; Jack Foust and Carl Gray,
