Miriam "Mimi" Hellman Ephraim passed peacefully away in the
comfort of her home on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 after suffering
from Alzheimers Disease for over a decade. Mimi was born on July
8, 1937 to Mildred and Victor Hellman in Oklahoma City. She was
raised in Chandler and graduated from Chandler High School in
1955. She attended Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri for
one year before transferring to the University of Oklahoma,
where she graduated with a BA in Interior Design in 1959. She
was a member of Sigma Delta Tau Sorority. At OU she met and
married her husband Stanley and enjoyed a marriage of nearly 44
years. They were lifetime members of Temple B'nai Israel. Mimi
had a million friends and was always the life of the party. Her
love for Chandler stayed true and was as deep as her love of OU
football. She and Stanley led a full life of family, travel and
fun. Mimi had a particular talent for handling and playing with
babies, whether they were her own or not. Her ultimate treasures
were her family and friends.
Mimi is survived by three children, Mark Ephraim and wife
Jennifer, Todd Ephraim, Gail Ephraim; five grandchildren;
brother, Sam Hellman and wife Harriet of New York and their two
children; and double first cousin, Larry Hellman and wife Gay
and their two children. The family would like to thank our
wonderful team of caregivers that allowed Mimi to live out her
life in the comfort of her own home. Funeral arrangements have
been set for Friday, May 22 at 11:00am at Hahn-Cook Funeral Home
(6600 Broadway Extension,). Interment will follow at
Fairlawn Cemetery.
