Lawana
Susan Fausett, born November 8, 1913 to John Robert and Cora May
Winniger Moore in Addington, Oklahoma, entered Into the presence
of our precious Lord, July 21, 2050 after a short bout with
cancer. She moved with her family to Duncan, Oklahoma in 1921
where she spent her Childhood and graduated from Empire High School in
1932. After high school graduation, she attended Central State
College in Edmond, Oklahoma. She was united in marriage to Eddie Smith Fausett
August 1, 1935 in Duncan, Oklahoma. This union was blessed with twin
daughters, Edwina Sue and Erol Linda, and a son, Eddie Smith Fausett,
Jr. Lawana and her husband built and operated their own restaurant
"Eddie's Knotty Pine Grill" in Oklahoma City from 1939 to 1960. Lawana
and Eddie moved to Ada, Oklahoma In 1960, and Eddie moved to Ada,
Oklahoma in 1960, and Lawana enjoyed several Measurable years working
at Valley View Hospital and East Central University at Pasagi Hall.
Lawana and Eddie returned to Oklahoma City in 1990. Lawana joined her
children in Colorado Springs in 1999, after Eddie's death in 1998.
Lawana' s faith and love for the Lord were exhibited through her long
church support and service beginning with Fair Baptist Church. Duncan,
Oklahoma; Immanuel Baptist, Oklahoma City; Trinity. Baptist, Oklahoma
City; First Baptist Church, Ada, Oklahoma; Village Baptist, Church,
Oklahoma City and, for the past nine months, Circle Baptist Church in.
Colorado Springs, Colorado. Lawana served her churches in many ways.
Her service included serving as a Sunday School teacher; participation
in the Women's Missionary Union and the Prime Time Choir and Ire Prime
Time Choir. She also served as a Cub Scout leader and supported her
communities and churches in many other ways.
Lawana was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of
sixty-two years, Eddie; her parents, John and Con Moore; brother,
Marion Harold (Gus) Moore; sister, Opal Moore Smart; brother, Ray
Moore; brother, Ralph Moore and niece, Susan Moore Carroll all of
Duncan, Oklahoma. Twin daughters, Edwina Sue and husband Gerald W.
Bennett, Erol Linda and husband John P. Agnos and son, Eddie Smith
Fausett, Jr., of Colorado Springs, Colorado survive her. Sister,
Johnnie B. White of Bridgeport, Texas; eight grandchildren: John P.
Agnos, II. Khristian Hollowell-Agnos, Susan Biggs, Elizabeth Feil,
David Shapard Ill, Adreane and Karly Fausett and Eddie S. Fausett III;
three great-grandchildren: Dakota and Jackson Biggs & Chandler
Shapard and eleven nieces and three nephews, all of whom she loved very
much, also survive her. Lawana was a beloved mother and mother-in-law,
grandmother, aunt and friend. She was cherished by all who knew her,
her life an inspiration to all. She was a beautiful woman who will be
remembered with love by all those whose lives she influenced.
The family requests that any donations be made to Pike's Peak Hospice
and Palliative Care or the American Cancer Society.
Services will be held at 1 pm Monday, July 31 2000 at the Village
Baptist Church, 10600 N. May. Oklahoma City with interment to follow at
Rose Hill Burial
Park, Oklahoma City.
