Richard L. Felton, 39, 12104 Blue Sage Road, Oklahoma City, died November 19, 1981 at Baptist Medical Center after a short illness. Born July 23, 1942, in Hollywood, California, he was raised and educated in Oklahoma. He graduated from OSU with a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and was a member of Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity. He was a Commodity Broker and established his own successful Commodities Brokerage firm, Oklahoma City, Amspacher & Associates. He served 19 years in the Oklahoma National Guard and achieved the rank of Major, serving in the MP Battalion in McAlester, Oklahoma. He was appointed by Gov. Nigh to the Oklahoma State Deaf and Hearing Commission on September 14, 1979, and had served as Chairman since January, 1980. During his Chairmanship he established the first Statewide Interpretive Services Program for the hearing impaired. He was a member of Christ The King Church and Quail Creek Golf and Country Club.

Survivors include his wife Linda, his daughters Beth and Ginny, his son Richard, all of the home, his mother and stepfather Marie and Al LaMonte, his brother Steven, his grandmother Ellen Welch, all of Oklahoma City, and many nieces and nephews, and brother and sisters-in-law who lived him. A Wake service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Sunday in Smith & Kernke Funeral Chapel.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Christ The King Church, with Richard L. Felton Memorial Fund has been established at Founders National Bank. Funds will be used to benefit hearing impaired children in the State of Oklahoma.
