Indian Trader Dead

Col. John H. Florer Came From Kansas With Osages in 1872.

Bartlesville, I.T., Jan 10 - Colonel John N. Florer, aged 63, a veteran of the Civil War and a high degree Mason, died today at the home of his nephew, Mortimer F. Stillwell. He was a trader at Grayhorse, Okla., with the Osages for a third of a century, coming with them from Kansas in 1872. He obtained of the Osage council the blanket lease which resulted in the development of the oil industry here. Interment will be made at Lawrence, Kansas, Monday.
