Prominent Woman Dies
In the death of Mrs. Amelia Gerson, Saturday night, is marked
the passing of one of Oklahoma City's best known women. The end
came peacefully at her home, 300 West Twelfth street. Mrs.
Gerson was seventy-seven years old and leaves six children, all
of whom are prominent in the social and business life of the
city. They are George, James and Harry Gerson, Mrs. E. Cole,
Mrs. S. C. Heyman and Mrs. Sol Hasgall. Mrs. Gerson had lived in
Oklahoma City for the last sixteen years, coming here from
Newton, Kan. Notice of the funeral arrangements has not yet been
given out.

Gerson Funeral Largely Attended
The funeral services of Mrs. Amelia Gerson, 77 years old,
widow of Joseph Gerson, who died at her home, 306 West Twelfth
street, Saturday night, was held at the family residence Monday
afternoon. The Rev. Joseph Blatt preached the funeral sermon.
Mr. and Mrs. Gerson came to Oklahoma City sixteen years ago,
from Newton, Kan., to join their three sons here, who came to
Oklahoma City at the opening. Since coming here, the Gersons
have been prominent, both financially and socially.
The service was one of the largest attended in the history of
the city, many friends and relatives attending. The floral
offerings were elaborate. The pallbearers were Leon Levy, B. B.
Pollock, Arthur Abt, Louis Cohn, Sidney Elsman and A. M.
Goldstandt.
Mrs. Gerson leaves three sons, Harry, James and George Gerson,
and three daughters, Mrs. E. Cole, Mrs. S. C. Heyman and Mrs. S.
J. Hasgell. Interment was at Fairlawn.
