Sherri Goodson, 40, passed from this life to be with her Lord
on December 2, 2004 following a courageous and lengthy battle
with cancer. She was born June 17, 1964 in Texas City, Texas.
Sherri married her childhood sweetheart and schoolmate, Loyall
Alan Goodson, September 25, 1982, and they were blessed with,
four children. A children's hair stylist, Sherri worked for RG's
Young People in Britton for about ten years until their third
child arrived. In recent years, she was a homemaker and enjoyed
participating in their children's activities. Times with her
family were cherished events for Sherri. She loved just being
together, building memories that could be stored away and
brought forward to enjoy again and again. She believed, that
memories are wonderful gifts. Sherri was a faithful member of
Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, having
joined in 1987. She loved her church family and they loved her.
She was a very special young lady. As she grew weaker in body,
her spirit seemed to shine stronger and brighter, and she was an
inspiration to all.
She is survived by her husband, Loyall Alan Goodson, of the
home; one daughter, Cherise Goodson Stiles and husband, Daniel ;
three sons, Clint Goodson, Cole Goodson and Colorado Goodson;
mother, Ruth Reed and husband, Fred of Choctaw, OK; father, Joe
Welch of Henderson, Texas; mother-in-law, Laura Goodson of
Midwest City, OK; sister, Michelle Smith of OKC; two brothers,
Charles Welch and wife, Hazel of Yukon, OK, and Daryl Welch and
wife, Alicia of Florida; brother-in-law, Larry Goodson of OKC;
niece, Richelle Smith; two nephews: Christopher Goodson and
Corey Goodson; an uncle, Howard "Buddy" Welch of Henderson,
Texas; and numerous other loving relatives and close friends.
She will be greatly missed. The family is deeply grateful to the
medical staff of OU Medical Center and Presbyterian Tower for
the care and comfort provided for Sherri and her loved ones
during her illness.
