Services for GEORGE D. GRIMES, 81, of 1901 N. Park, are noon Wednesday in Gaskill Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Winfield Oppegard, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, officiating.
Interment will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens in Oklahoma City.Mr. Grimes died Monday in a local hospital.
He was born September 14, 1899, in Dale. He lived in Oklahoma City 30 years and returned to Shawnee in 1973. He was married December 31, 1970, in Shawnee. A retired Conoco agent at Edmond, he was a member of the Southminster Presbyterian Church in Oklahoma City and the Masonic Lodge. The casket will remain open until service time and will not be opened after the service.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Vera Grimes, of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Roy Nichols, Oklahoma City; Mrs. John Scarborough, Auburn, ALabama; two sisters, Mrs. Howard (Hazel) Musick, Shawnee; Mrs. F.D. (MAUD) Nicholson, Wewoka; a brother, E.R. GRIMES, Shawnee; 13 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
