Services for Odie Mae Whittington Harper of Oklahoma City were Wednesday at
10:00 a.m. in Knobhill Baptist Church, followed by graveside services at 4:00
p.m. in Lakeview Cemetery.
Mrs. Harper was born September 23, 1929, at Bomar, the daughter of Dovie
Thetford and C.H. Whittington, Sr., and died July 25, 1999, after a lengthy
illness.
Raised in the Thackerville area, she graduated from Thackerville High School.
Mrs. Harper started her office career upon graduation at the Love County
Courthouse in Marietta and retired from the FAA. She and Paul Harper were
married July 19, 1947.
Mrs. Harper served the Lord in many positions in the churches
she attended during her life. At the time of her death, she was a member of
Knobhill Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Paul Harper; two sons and daughters-in-law,
David and Adrienne Harper of Choctaw and Alan and Teena Harper of Oklahoma City;
two brothers and sisters-in-law, C.H. and Betty Whittington of Thackerville and
Otis and June Whittington of Shawnee; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Sadie
McPherson of Durant, Vivian and Cleo Mason of Oklahoma City, and Ruby and Pete
Jordan of Thackerville; and four grandchildren, Makailyn Harper, Makensie
Harper, Jerod Harper and Jennifer Fraysur and husband Derreck.
Mrs. Harper was preceded in death by four brothers, Joe Whittington, Rob
Whittington, Leroy Whittington and Herman Whittington.
Services were directed by Baggerly-South Funeral Home, Oklahoma City.
