Soledad Hernandez, 78, of Arnold died Sunday at her home in Arnold.

She was a native of Oklahoma City, Okla. She lived in Arnold for the past month and was a longtime resident of Hayward prior to moving to Arnold. She lived in Sun City, Ariz., for five years.

She worked as a health aide in the Bay Area and Sun City, Ariz.

Her daughter said she was a wonderful seamstress and loved to sew. She enjoyed gardening and had a green thumb, her daughter said.

Mrs. Hernandez is survived by three sons, Victor Hernandez of Hayward, Tony Hernandez of Fremont and Gil Hernandez of Rocklin; a daughter, Christina Hanshaw of Arnold; three brothers, Frank Solorio of Marysville, Jose Solorio of Hayward and Dolores Solorio of Niles; three sisters, Juanita Maciel of Oakdale, Jovita Cruz of Union City and Anita Sepulvida of Hayward; and nine grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Josephine Abena and Jesus Solorio.

A memorial service will be held Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at Angels Memorial Chapel, 1071 S. Main St., Angels Camp. Inurnment will be private. Remembrances may be sent to the Visiting Nurse Association, P.O. Box 4805, Sonora 95370.
