"Teddy" Holcomb May Not Survive
Boy Who Was Burned While Playing With Matches, In Dangerous Condition
As the result of burns received while playing with matches, his clothing
having become ignited before his mother could smother the flames with her
skirts, "Teddy," the three year old son of Mr. and Mrs. L. M.
Holcomb, 440 West Twelfth street, is seriously injured and doubts of his
recovery are entertained.
The child's abdomen and face and hands are badly burned. The boy has been
in poor health for some time. Dr. T. A. Craven and Dr. U. L. Russell are the
attending physicians.
While the nurse was in the rear of the house and the mother was up stairs,
the boy playfully struck a match. In an instant his clothes were ablaze. His
mother heard his screams and ran to his rescue.
