James Howard HOPPER

Funeral services for James Howard HOPPER were held April 7 at the Williamson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jo MOLENCUPP officiating.

He was born Dec. 22, 1924 at Oklahoma City to Dewey Hopper and Sara GOWN Hopper and died March 5 at the Henryetta Medical Center following an extended illness.

Mr. Hopper grew up in the Oklahoma City area where he attended school. As a young man, he entered the United States Navy and served his country during the post-World War II era. He was honorably discharged in September 1949.

He was married to the former Sylvia MANES in 1955. They made their home in San Diego, Ca. where he worked many years as a carpet layer. He was a member of the Floor Covering Union.

His wife preceded him in death in 1972.

Mr. Hopper relocated to Wetumka some 20 years ago. While in Wetumka, he was employed by Super C Mart and as custodian for the First United Methodist Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching sports events on television.

Survivors include two sons, Richard Howard Hopper of Holdenville and Gary Wayne Hopper; a daughter, Debra BRATT of Wetumka; three grandchildren, James, Jason and Sara Bratt; along with other relatives.

Interment was in Wetumka Cemetery under the direction of Williamson Funeral Home.
