August 10, 2006Emily Blanche Horn was born in
Pyatt, Arkansas September 14, 1912 to her parents, James Oliver
and Lillie Belle Ledbetter and she passed away at the age of 93
on August 8, 2006 in Midwest City, Oklahoma where she resided
since 1975.
Her husband, Kermit G. Horn , preceded her in death in 1975.
Mrs. Horn was a dedicated educator who taught school for 40
years in Broken Arrow, Braggs, Farry and Gore. She and her
husband retired from Gore Public Schools in Sequoyah County,
near Sallisaw, in 1975. Most importantly, she was an
extraordinary mother, grandmother and friend teaching and
modeling a graceful, virtuous and loving life.
Mrs. Horn is survived by one sister, Betty Sensibaugh of
Mason, OH and by her six children: Glenda Doner of Midwest City,
Judy Pixley of Van Buren, AR, Penny Stockstill of Broken Arrow,
Jo Ann Porter of Moore, Patsy Ashley of Wickenburg, AZ, and
Kermit Horn , Jr. of Paris, France. She is survived by 20 plus
grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, and will also be
greatly missed by many others.
A funeral service will be held Friday, August 11 at 10:00
a.m. in the Candlewood Chapel at Ford Funeral Service, 315 S.
Sooner Rd, Midwest City. It will be followed by a graveside
service at South Bethel Cemetery in Braggs, OK, at 4:00 p.m. In
lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crosspointe Community
Church of Laurel, Mississippi, which is pastored by one of her
