Anna Mae Shouse Hubbard passed away on
June 25, 2009, in Crescent, OK. She was born Feb. 18, 1921, in
Sapulpa , Oklahoma, to James Herbert Shouse and Anna Belle Corey
Shouse.
Anna knew by the age of nine that she
wanted to be a Nurse. She realized that dream on July 18, 1943,
when she graduated from St. Anthony's Hospital School of Nursing
as a Registered Nurse. She waited until later in life to
practice her craft so that she could stay home with her
children. Anna was an instructor for the Red Cross and most
compassionate caregiver. She was a Gifted Nurse. She met the
fourth Love of Her Life, (her children were the first three),
William E. Hubbard, MD, while working as his nurse. They lived
happily for 27 years. Anna loved Music. She had a beautiful
soprano voice. She enjoyed gardening, reading the Scriptures,
Chocolate, Relief Society, teaching the Sunbeams, playing
basketball, Chocolate, fishing, her children, her grandchildren,
and Chocolate. She was not a great Driver. Anna was a member of
the Guthrie Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day
Saints. She had an unquestioned faith in and an unwavering love
of her Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ. That faith and
love was reflected in her daily life. She had tremendous
capacity to love and forgive.
She is survived by three children:
Jerimiah M. Cronk, III, and wife, Carol (Sullivan), of High
Ridge, MO; Catherine Anne Robinson of Cabot, AR; and Caralee
Carey and husband, Jerry, of Crescent, OK. She has 8
grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents,
all of her siblings, and her beloved Dr. Bill.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M.
Monday, June 29th, at the Guthrie Chapel of the Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter Day Saints at 5326 Ellie Mae Drive, Guthrie,
OK. Her funeral will be under the direction of Abernathy Aaron
Funeral Home of Crescent. A viewing will be held at the funeral
home Sunday afternoon 3:00 to 5:00 PM.
