Marge died Fri., June 23, 2006, at Rosewood Terrace in
Vinita at the age of 93.
The daughter of Andrew Walter and Lita Ellen (Davisson)
Kelley was born Dec. 23, 1912, in Claremore. Their family
lived in the location of the current Faith Baptist Church.
She graduated from Claremore High School and continued her
education in business school. She met Herbert Hudson while
he attended the Oklahoma Military Academy. They married on
Feb. 16, 1932, at the Methodist Church in Norman. They
made their home in Oklahoma City. Marge was a secretary
with Champlain Oil Company, and was a member of the Desk
and Derrick Club. She was an accomplished international
pilot that flew in the Powder Puff Derby many times. Marge
was Flying Farm Queen twice, member of the 99’ers, and
was the winner in the Fairview, OK, air race. She was a
YWCA swim instructor during the depression and water ski
instructor. She taught all her grandchildren how to water
ski. Marge also served a girl scout leader for many years.
Marge grew up in the First United Methodist Church in
Claremore, and when she moved to Oklahoma City she became
a member of the First United Methodist Church in downtown
Oklahoma City. She was active in the First United
Methodist Church’s Women’s Sewing Circle for many
years. Marge was a member of the Daughters of the American
Revolution. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and cooking.
Marge had lived in Vinita for the past 2 years. Marge’s
sense of adventure and willingness to experience new
things gave a priceless foundation of the importance of
