Absent from the body, present with the Lord"

John Isaacs, 89 passed away on May 19, 2006. He was born in Tupelo, Oklahoma, on January 28, 1917 to John & Bittie Isaacs. John was the widower of Hazel (Vaught) Isaacs. In 1987 John married Mary (Birdwell) and they made their home in South OKC. He worked at Harlow Publishing Co, Time Journal and for 32 years at Tinker Air Force Base. John was unwavering in his relationship with the Lord and he loved serving Him. He was a very kind and thoughtful person who built a lifetime of reading his Bible, praying and loving family and friends. He was always striving to increase his walk with the Lord and his legacy will live on in the lives of those he touched. John was a member of Exchange Ave. Baptist Church where he and Mary enjoyed "Senior Set" trips & activities and loved their pastor "Rusty". They also took pleasure in attending OU football games for many years.

Preceding him in death are his parents; John and Bittie and his daughter Ferrell. 

Surviving him are His wife Mary, daughter, Nancy Hackett and son-in-law James; also son-in-law Tom Geurin; 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. John is also survived by Mary's family who has embraced him as their own; the Joe Birdwell family and the Jim Null family which includes (10) grandchildren and (12) great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. On behalf of the family, we wish to express our gratitude to the staffs of Baptist Hospital and Excel Hospice, for the care they gave to John. Services will be held, Tuesday, May 23 at 2:00 pm, Exchange Ave. Baptist Church, 1312 So. Penn. 

Interment will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the John Isaacs Fund at Exchange Ave. Baptist Church.
