Zakia M. Jabara, 99, went to be with our Lord Tuesday, August 8,
1995. She was born in Jeyedit Merjayoun, Lebanon on April 3,
1896, to Moussa & Raheeja Jabara . In December 1920, Zakia and
her sister Rakia, came to America to live with their brother and
his wife, Farris & Watfa Jabara & family, in Oilton, Ok. The
family moved to Oklahoma City in 1950.
Zakia was a very precious aunt and second mother, affectionately
known as "Auntie" & "Kia" to all who knew her. She was our
pillar of strength. She gave her life in loving and untiring
devotion and care to her family and friends.
Zakia is survived by her sister, Helena Abi Rached of Brazil;
her nieces, Norma & June Jabara , Victoria (Mrs. Richard) Simon,
Maxine Dakil, and Zila Gebara of Brazil; also many other loving
nieces, nephews, great, great-great, & great-great-great nieces
& nephews in Oklahoma, various states and Brazil. Special thanks
and deep appreciation to our dear and compassionate Dr. Hanna A.
Saadah and to two very wonderful women, Ester Ambriz & Connie
Pena, who lovingly and unselfishly took care of Auntie for many
years to assure her a good, happy, and comfortable life.
Zakia was preceded in death by her parents, Moussa & Raheeja
Gebara; her brothers & sisters, Farris & Watfa Jabara, Haseeba
Dakil, Rakia Zitoon, Rathia Czar, & Rathey Gebara of Brazil;
nieces & nephews, Mose, Nellie, Ruth, Sam, Amelia & Eddie Jabara
, & Dr. Louis Dakil. May her blessed soul rest in Heaven. We
love and miss you dear Kia. Trisagion service 7:00 p.m.
Wednesday at St. Elijah Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church.
Funeral service 2:00 p.m. Thursday at St. Elijah Church.
Interment Fairlawn
Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to St. Elijah Antiochian
Orthodox Christian Church, Mercy Hospital, or a charity of your
choice.
