Retired Army PSG Maurice "Bud" Jeffers, Jr. left his earthly pain behind on Sunday, April 22, 2007 and entered into a joyous reunion in heaven. Bud was born February 21, 1932 in Choctaw , OK to Maurice and Nellie (Walker) Jeffers. Bud lived in many different places, but always called Choctaw home. Two of the things Bud loved more than anything was his family and fishing. Bud served his country for 21 years, serving 3 tours of duty in Viet Nam. He also worked for, and retired from, the State of Oklahoma.

Bud is survived by his son, Gary Jeffers of Bethel Acres; 11 grandchildren, Angela Jeffers, Amanda Bradley & her husband Keith, Juan Jeffers, Kristel Jeffers, Amber Van Beber, April Jeffers, Sarah Jeffers, Matthew Jeffers, Shauna Bass, Holly Bass, Eric Bass; 7 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces & nephews; a host of other relatives and friends.

Bud is preceded in death by 2 sons, Eddie Lee and Randy Maurice; 1 daughter, Barbara Leona Bass; and 1 great-grandson; his parents, sister, brother-in-law, step brother, and sister-in-law.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Friday, 4/27/2007 at the First Baptist Church of Choctaw with burial in Elmwood Cemetery in Choctaw. Barnes and Johnson Funeral Home.
