CREEDE — Merl Jennings, 68, of Creede, Colo. passed away Aug. 12, 2009. He was born May 26, 1941 to Merl and Mae Jennings in Oklahoma City, Okla.

He is survived by his wife Kathy of Creede; daughter Julie Jennings of Denver, Colo; son Greg (Diane) Jennings and grandchildren Tim, Kayla, Matthew all of Edmond, Okla; daughter Kelli (Tom) Hart and grandson Tyler of Old Town, Fla. as well as by three sisters, their families and numerous other relatives.

Merl lived his early years in Oklahoma working as an educator, administrator and pastor and in career development. He lived in Texas his last 10 years before his retirement. After retirement Merl’s love was theater and community activities in Creede. His charming personality endeared him to anyone lucky enough to become acquainted with him.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Mon., Aug. 17, 2009 at the Creede Repertory Theatre. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Creede Theatre would be appreciated: Creede Repertory Theatre PO Box 269 Creede, Colorado 81130. Arrangements made under direction of Strohmayer’s Funeral Home.
