"MARTIN HENRY JOHNSON
Services were held Saturday afternoon in Bill Merritt Funeral Home for Martin Henry Johnson, 54, of 6608 NW 26, a retired Tinker Air Force Base employee who was custodian at Overholser Elementary School. Johnson died Thursday, March 27, in Doctor's General Hospital following an extended illness.
He was born at Hinton and had lived in Bethany for 14 years. He was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Thelma R.; a son, Martin Ross, and daughter, Nita Ann, all of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Cornelia Humphries of 528 NW 115; his mother, Mrs. Grace Johnson, and brothers, Denzil and Herschel, all of Arroyo Grande, California.

Also another brother, James L., of Willow, California; his stepmother, Beda Smith of Kansas City, Missouri; three sisters, Mrs. Naomi Wahlgren of St. Joseph, Missour; and Mrs. Juanita Gilbert of Kansas City, Missouri, and one grandson."
