Born 29 May 1911, 20 miles west of Cordell in Washita County to W C and Ida KEAS,
Married Ona MCELMURRY

Graduated from Dill City High School, graduated from Southwestern State College
Classroom teacher, principal and coach at the Berlin School, Roger Mills County
In 1939, he became Superintendent of Schools at Dill City and served in this capacity for 8 years. Served as President of the Southwest OEA as one of the youngest district OEA presidents on record. In 1947, Stan was appointed Chief High School Inspector for the State Department of Education. In 1949, he was promoted to State Assistant Superintendent of Schools in charge of instruction and served as Chairman of the North Central Association of Schools. In 1954, he was selected by the North Central Association to visit schools for American dependents in Japan and the Philippine Islands for purposes of evaluation and certification. In 1957, Standifer was selected as Assistant Superintendent of the Midwest City-Del City Schools where he implemented an innovative levels program and helped the Midwest City-Del City Schools achieve recognition as one of the outstanding school systems in the state and nation. In 1962, Standifer became the Executive Secretary of the Oklahoma Teachers' Retirement System, working with legislators, teachers, administrators and retired teachers to develop a program aimed at constantly upgrading the retirement benefits for teachers in Oklahoma. He served in this position until his retirement in 1975.

Survived by: wife of 67 years; daughter, Peggy and son-in-law, Carl Shafer; grandchildren, Scott and wife Debe Shafer, Todd and wife Jenny Shafer; great grandchildren, Jye and Hallie Shafer; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
