Services for Frank William Kellert, 52, of 2432 NW 51, will be at 11 am Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery directed by Hahn-Cook, Street & Draper Funeral Home. Kellert, the managing director of Wilson Credit Union, died Friday at his home after a long illness. Kellert, who swatted a pinch-hit single for the Brooklyn Dodgers in the 1955 World Series, died Firday. Kellert also played for the old Oklahoma City Indians and San Antonio in the minor league. He finished his career in San Franciso in 1959. He was born in Oklahoma City and was a World War II veteran of the Air Force. He was chairman of the Oklahoma Credit Union League, and served the nation Credit Union Executive Society for seven years as secreatary, vie-president and president. He was a member of the Chamber of Commerce and was appointed by Gov. Boren to the Oklahoma State Credit Union board of directors... Survivors include his wife, Doris; two sons, Frfank Jr., Oklahoma City and Steve, Ponca City; a daughter, Diane, Oklahoma City; two brothers Al, Monmouth, Ill., and Paul, Mannford; two sisters, Margaret Kellert, Tulsa, and Mrs. Catherine Forest, St Louis, Mo., and his father, A. M. Kellert, Oklahoma City. Frank William Kellert was born on Sunday, July 6, 1924, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Kellert was 28 years old when he broke into the big leagues on April 18, 1953, with the St. Louis Browns. Louis Cardinals as an amateur free agent in 1949, Kellert would make his Major League Baseball debut with the St. Louis Browns on April 18, 1953, and appear in his final game on September 29, 1956.
