James Williams Kennedy
James Williams Kennedy, 67 years old, former Denison, Texas,
grocer who came to Oklahoma City last August after retiring,
died Satuarday at the home of a daughter, Mr. R. B. Cooper, 1419
1/2 North Drexel avenue. He had been bedfast nearly three
months.
Kennedy was born Sept 12, 1874, near Van Buren, Ark., and was a
building contractor at Muskogee from about 1912 to 1914. He had
been in the grocery business at Denison about 15 years, and at
one time was a farmer.
He was a member of the Christian church at Denison.
Also surviving are his wife; two other daughters. Mrs. Pearl
Holland, Prague, and Miss Ruth Kennedy, Ada; three sons,
Gilbert, Ponca City; James R., Dallas, Texas and Lee I.,
Portland, Ore.; a sister, Mrs. E. P. Jackson, Denison; a
brother, Walter Kennedy, Fort Collins, Colo., and 11
grandchildren.
Services will be Monday at Denison, the Garrison funeral home
announced. Burial will be in a family lot at Preton Bend, Texas.
