Funeral services for Rudolph Kleiner, 88 years old, president to the territorial board of agriculture from 1905 to 1907, will be conducted at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon in Wheatland by the Hahn funeral home.
Kleiner was a native of Switzerland, coming to the United States with his family while a young man and settling in Missouri. During the first two years of the Civil War he drove Gen. U.S. Grant's headquarters wagon.
He came to Oklahoma a few days after the run in 1889, settling on a farm near Wheatland. There he engaged in horticulture and stock raising. He was elected the territorial board of agriculture in 1092 and to the presidency of the board in 1905. He served one term as Oklahoma county commissioner.
He was an active Sundayschool and church worker in the Presbyterian church, a charter member of the Oklahoma State Fair association, and an honorary member of the Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. C.A. Kinchen and Mrs. W.E. Fightmaster, both of Oklahoma City. He made his home here the last five years.
