Faces Death In Awful Accident

Boy Hurled From Buggy And Horse Horribly Hurt By Car

Stubbling (sic) on the tracks of the Maywood street car line at Seventh and Harrison a pony driven by Darwin Leach, 16 year old son of E. _. Leach, 308 East Seventh street, pitched headlong to its knees and before it could arise, buggy and horse were struck by an eastbound car at 6:30 o'clock last evening. Both rear legs of the animal were bruised and it was found necessary to kill it.

The boy was thrown clear of the ___ of the car by the impact of the collision, but sustained severe bruises about the head and right leg. Medical attention was given the boy's injuries after he was taken to his home. No serious results are anticipated as the injuries are of an external nature.

The buggy was practically demolished.
