Tobacco Cause of J. R. Light's Death
President of New State Laundry Company Passes Away Suddenly
John R. Light, 917 West California avenue, president of the
New State Laundry company, died suddenly at his home Friday
afternoon at 3 o'clock. The stricken man was attended by two
physicians and although given temporary relief, he passed away
within an hour after medical aid was summoned. He leaves a widow
and a four year old daughter, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. D.
Light of Ardmore, three brothers, William R. of Oklahoma City,
James E. of Ardmore, and Dick Light of Chicago. Two sisters of
the deceased, Mrs. Jack Williams, and Mrs. T. S. Lee both reside
in Ardmore.
According to the attending physicians death was due to heart
trouble induced by nicotine poisoning and severe stomach trouble
of several years standing. The funeral will be from St. Luke's
Methodist church Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock.

Light Funeral Today
The funeral of John R. Light, who died at his home Friday
afternoon, will be conducted at St. Luke's Methodist Episcopal
church, Eighth street and Robinson avenue, this afternoon at
2:30 o'clock by the pastor, the Rev. E. C. McVoy. Hive No. 6,
Lady Maccabees, of which the wife is a member, will attend the
service in a body.

Hold Funeral of John R. Light
The funeral of John R. Light, who died suddenly Friday
afternoon at 4 o'clock while playing with his little daughter at
him home, 917 West California street, was held Sunday afternoon
at 3 o'clock from St. Luke's M.E. church, and was very largely
attended. Mr. Light was president of the New State Laundry
company, and was well known here. He was born in Texas, December
3, 1872 and removed to Ardmore, this state, later going to
Lawton where he engaged in business. He came to Oklahoma City
nine years ago. He is survived by his wife, one daughter,
Juanita, three brothers, a sister and his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
R. D. Light of Ardmore.
