Mr. Perry Long Jr.

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Perry Martin Long Jr., 61, passed away February 22, 2002. Perry was born in Sardis, Ga. to Perry Martin Long Sr. and Marie Long Muns on November 24, 1940. On June 26, 1964, Perry married Linda Haddock of Cocoa, Fla., daughter of the late Arnold Haddock and Jim and Louise Collier. Perry proudly served his country in both the U.S. Army and the Oklahoma Army National Guard. After serving in Europe, he returned to the U.S. and was employed by Houdaille Douval Wright Construction Company of Jacksonville, Fla. until 1967. He then joined Rockwell International at the Kennedy Space Center, Cape Canaveral, Fla. as a cost/payroll accountant. Perry transferred to Oklahoma City, Okla. in 1973, and worked at Gulfstream Aerospace as a buyer. Perry joined KP Supply where he worked until 1999.

He was preceded in death by his father, Perry Martin Sr. and his sister, Annette Shoemaker. He is survived by Linda, his wife of 38 years; one son, Capt. Perry M. Long III, USAF, his wife, Stacy, and one granddaughter, Gabrielle Rose "Gabi" of Edmond, Okla.; mother, Marie Muns; brother, Arthur Long, his wife, Ruth and family of Sardis, Ga.; brother-in-law, Richard Shoemaker and family of Calera, Ala.; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces in his home state of Georgia.

A memorial service will be held Friday, March 1, 2002, at the Sardis Methodist Church in Sardis, Ga. at 10 a.m. The family requests donations be made to the Troy and Dollie Smith Cancer Center, Dept. 110-7470, 3300 N.W. Expressway, Oklahoma City, OK 73112, in lieu of flowers. Arrangements under the direction of Yanda & Son Funeral Home, Yukon, Okla.
