Gun Mishap Fatal To Luther Farmer

Injured when he was shot accidentally in the abdomen Sunday afternoon while hunting on a neighbor's farm land. William Elias Luce, 40, of Route 1, Luther, died at 9:30 a. m. Monday in the Harris clinic, 214 NW 13.

Mrs. Zena Luce, wife of the victim, and George Arthur Alexander, 64, a neighbor, told police Luce was shot when a rifle held by Alexander swung around out of his grasp and fired.

In addition to his wife, Luce is survived by five sons. Robert, Allen, Quell. Richard and David, and three daughters. Ella, Brooksie Nell and Judy Luce, all of the home.

The body was removed to the Perrine funeral home, to await funeral services.
