Idamae J.Luckens was welcomed by the Lord to her Heavenly
home on September 27th, 2004. She was born in a dug-out in
Guymon, Oklahoma on October 23rd, 1919 to Calvin & Lilly
Simpson.
She is survived by her children, Gail Earls, Joy Maxwell,
Larry Maxwell and wife Judy, Donna Kelley, Judy Baughn and her
husband Carl, Clifford Luckens and his wife Cindy, nieces,
nephews, cousins and numerous Grandchildren,
Great-Grandchildren, Great-Great Grandchildren,
Great-Great-Great Grandchildren to whom she was known as Gi-Gi.
Due to working and taking care of children she was unable get
her high school degree, so Idamae was 70 years old when she
received her GED. She thought education was very important, she
always loved to read books. Her favorite was the Bible and the
Psalms were her favorite. Idamae worked for Farmers Insurance
for many years and after retirement she enjoyed working in her
garden, especially with her flowers.
She
could always stick anything in the dirt and it would grow. She
especially loved her two dogs Jasper and Honey Girl.
Idamae was preceded in death by her parents Calvin and Lilly
Simpson, her husband Cliff Luckens , her brother Harvey Lee, her
sister Ruth Young, Ruth's husband Frank Young, a Son Floyd
Earls, one Grandson Henry Davis, one Granddaughter Tina Essary
and two Great-Grandchildren. She leaves behind many family and
friends who have been blessed by her presence, she will be
greatly missed. Services will be held at 10 AM Wednesday,
September 29, 2004 at Southern Hills Baptist Church, with
interment to follow at
Resthaven Memory
Gardens. Baggerley South Funeral Home.
