Norman - Dr. James L. Mayfield, 73, died Monday in Norman Municipal Hospital. Services will be at 2 pm Wednesday in St. John's Episcopal Church with burial in Resthaven Cemetery, Oklahoma City, directed by Primrose Funeral Home.

Mayfield, who was a dentist, was born in Bay Springs, Miss., and moved to Norman in 1925. He attended Mississippi Sinie College, Memphis Dental School and the University of Arkansas. He belonged to the Masonic Lodge, India Temple Shrine and the Kiwanis Club.

Survivors include his wife, Hattie; a son Dr. Robert C. Mayfield, Norman and two sisters, Mrs. Hurston Martin and Mrs. Lela Devlin, both of Bay Springs.

Memorials may be made to the memorial fund at Norman Municipal Hospital.
