Child Killed Under Great House Mover
Little Body Is Horribly Crushed By Big Wheels Of Wood
His entire right side mashed almost to a pulp by the rear trucks of heavy
rollers on which a house was being moved by W. H. Lewis, Donald Mayse, the 4
year old son of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Mayse, 810 West Grand avenue, died from
the results of his injuries five hours later.
The little fellow had been playing in front of his home with other
playmates but a few minutes before the accident.
Climbing onto the rear trucks of the rollers, he was thrown beneath them
by the sudden start of the house and these has passed completely over him
before the men in charge where cognizant of the horrible tragedy which had
been enacted.
Tenderly picking the mangled child from the pavement one of the men
carried him to his home where, for five hours, he suffered awful agony.
J. E. Mayse, father of the child, was for several years been connected
with the Oklahoman as traveling representative, but recently resigned his
position to accept one as deputy register of deeds.
Funeral arrangements have not yet been made.
