HARLINGEN,TX.--
Gaye Lynne McCameron, 69, entered into rest on Tuesday, February
17, 2009 at her residence in Harlingen.
Gaye was born in Oklahoma City, OK on March 9, 1939 to Bill and
Rae Slater Looker. She attended high school in Oklahoma and
graduated from high school in Pettus, Texas, where she met and
married Edward McCameron in 1956 and mother to four children Ed
Jr., Billy, Kenny and Janie. Gaye was part owner of Mac's
Insulation in Harlingen and Rocky River Camp in Campwood, Texas
and a member of the First Baptist Church of Harlingen.
She was preceded in death by her parents and children Billy and
Janie.
Gaye is survived by her loving husband of 52 years Edward
McCameron, Sr., Ed(Sandi) McCameron, Jr., Kenny(Cheli) McCameron,
two grandchildren Dillon and Christian, her sisters Mary
Lightfoot and Margaret Lightfoot and numerous nieces and
nephews. She is also survived by two special friends who
considered her a grandmother Brian Rambo and Jacob Baker.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Friday,
February 20, 2009, with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 pm
at the funeral home. Funeral services will be on Saturday,
February 21, 2009, 2:00 pm, at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home with
Rev. Chris Hall officiating.
Interment will follow at Heavenly Grace Memorial Park in La
Feria, TX.
Pallbearers will be Albino Perez, Juan Perez, Jim Galloway, Jose
Garcia, Frank Lara and Miguel Sanchez. Honorary pallbearers will
be the employees of Mac's Insulation of Harlingen.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to
the First Baptist Church of Harlingen,or the Boys and Girls
Club.
Arrangements are with Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home.
