Matthew
Jay Means, age 25, was born on July 23, 1983. God took him home
on Christmas Day, 2008, as a result of a tragic motorcycle
accident.
Matthew is survived by his 2-year-old daughter Baylee Renee
Means of Norman his mother and stepfather Lisa McCoy-Pittman and
Scott Pittman, of Norman father and stepmother, Franklin Jay and
Patricia Means, of Oklahoma City siblings Amanda McCoy of Moore,
Tyler and Micah McCoy of Norman, and Rebecca, Josh, and Luke
Means of Oklahoma City his grandparents Janet and Michael DeRee
of Cyril, Betty and Don Silagy of Enid, and Lloyd H. Means of
Mustang. He is also survived by great-grandmother Wilma Mitchell
of Cyril.
Matt was predeceased by his great-grandfather Nolan Mitchell,
and an aunt, Donna Mitchell. Matthew attended Norman North High
School and graduated in 2000 from Indiahoma High School.
He served in the United States Army in Korea from 2001 to 2005.
After his service, he returned to Norman and worked in oil and

sunshine in life unless they had been through the storm. Matthew
followed and tarried from a difficult path during his short
life. He accepted Jesus as his Savior at 8 years old. He knew
that he was God's child. He loved kids, dogs, cats, flying his
remote control airplane, listening to music and movies. Matthew
will be missed until we meet with him again.
