Lottie "Maxine" Medlock, of Medford, died Monday, July 16, 2007 at Springbrook Cottage with family by her side.

She was born July, 1920 in Oklahoma City, Okla., the daughter of Joseph A. and Opal G. (Boyel) Smith. On August 31, 1935, she married Lester Alexander Medlock, of Oklahoma City. They were married for 60 wonderful years.

She was a longtime resident of Ojai, Ventury, Calif. She and her husband retired in 1978 to Lake Havasu City, Ariz., where she lived for 25 years before relocating to Medford, Ore. in 2003 to be closer to her family.

She worked for many years in retail for JJ Newberrys in Ventura, Calif. She and her husband managed the Mira Valley Mobile Home Park in Ojai, Calif. for many years. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Bowling was her passion and she bowled on various leagues and teams over the years. She loved to play any kind of cards, bunko, read, sew and do crafts. She loved to laugh and joke. She had many friends; she never met a stranger.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lester Alexander Medlock; son Lester "Butchie" DaWayne; grandson James Steven Kunz; brothers Stanley, Mickey and Eugene Smith; and sister Dorathy Hathcock.

Survivors include daughters, Darlene Royal (Barry) of Marysville, Wash. and Barbara Kunz (Jim "Al") of Medford, Ore.; grandchildren, Michael Lee Bennett (Molly), Jackie Singer (Side), Shellie Kunz (Eric), Sheri Schumacher (Craig), great-grandchildren, Ramona Lee, Deseray Lee, Jefferey Moors, Deborah Singer, Christi Glavin, Chase Shcumacher and Sarah Lee Bennett; great-great-grandchildren, Dreah Glavin, India, Ila, and Israel Moors; brother, Leroy Smith of Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.

At her request, she is to be cremated with no service. Arrangements provided by Rogue Valley Funeral Alternatives.

She was loved very, very much and will be missed dearly by her family.
