Darrell
L. Miller , age 84, of Allen, TX passed away on June 9, 2002, at
his home. He was born on September 24, 1917 to Walter and
Claribelle (Passinger) Miller in Warren, PA.
On January 18, 1945, he married Rebecca Harrison in Warren,
PA. He was a supervisor with Southwestern Bell for 44 years and
was a life-time member of the Oklahoma City chapter of Telephone
Pioneers of America. He was in the Army Air Corps during WWII
having served in North Africa and Italy. He is a member of the
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He and his wife,
served as missionaries in North Carolina and Mr. Miller was a
Bishop for 2 congregations in the Oklahoma City area.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca H. Miller of Allen; sons,
Lee O. Miller and wife, Sherry of Langhorne, PA, Kent H. Miller
and wife, Mary of McFarland, WI, and Melvin D. Miller and wife,
Marilyn of Allen; daughter, Kristi L. Pepperdine and husband,
Alan of Carrollton; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren;
sister, Ina Berdine of Tucson, AZ; numerous nieces, nephews, and
other loving relatives.
Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his parents;
brother, Myron "Pete" Miller ; 2 sisters, Berea Albright and
Alice Kirberger.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, June 17,
2002 at the Latter-Day Saints Church in Allen with Bishop Jeff
Eliason officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday, at
Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. A graveside service will
be held on Tuesday at 1:00 PM, at
Fairlawn Cemetery
in Oklahoma City, OK. Memorials may be made to LDS Humanitarian
Aid Fund; 1665 S. Bennett Rd., Salt Lake City, UT 84104
