Wife follows mate in Death By Four Weeks
Mrs. Laura L. Mitchell To Be Buried in El Reno
Mrs. Laura L. Mitchell, 74 years old, a resident of the state
38 years, died of pneumonia Friday at the home of her daughter,
Mrs. Byrdie L. Chappell, 319 Northeast Fifteenth street. Mrs.
Mitchell an invalid for four years, was the wife of Rev. N. E.
Mitchell, retired pastor, who died four weeks ago.
Rev. and Mrs. Mitchell came from Missouri to Apache, where
Mr. Mitchell held his first pastorate. Later the couple lived in
Carmen, Hennessey, Sayre and Watonga, coming to Oklahoma City
about 16 years ago. Mrs. Mitchell was a member of the First
Baptich church here and of the Eastern Star of Carmen.
Other survivors are a son, George E. Mitchell, Dallas, Texas,
a sister, Mrs. C. C. Clark, 145 East Park place; her mother,
Mrs. Sadie Pierce, Landonia, Mo; a nience Mrs. Lila Phillips,
145 East Park place; two grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren.
Rites will be in the Jack Jones chapel. Burial will be in the
El Reno cemetery.
