Daily Oklahoman, The
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
December 20, 1957

Services for Charlie P. Moore, 88-year-old retired paper company employe who homesteaded the present site of the Civic center, will be Saturday, 2 pm, in the Hunter funeral chapel, with burial at Sunny Lane cemetery.

Moore died Wednesday at an Oklahoma City nursing home after a month's illness.

Born at DeKalb, Mo., he came to Oklahoma City in the run of 1889. About two years later, he sold his Civic center lots and homesteaded another tract four miles north of McCloud. In 1916, he returned to the city. Moore retired about 15 years ago from the Oklahoma Paper Co.

He is survived by a son, Joe E., and a daughter, Mrs. Bertha Cobb, both of the home; one granddaughter; three great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Elin Bainum, of Shawnee.
