Raymond L. Morgan, 84, passed away June 18, 2007. He was born August 27, 1922 in Sloan, Iowa to Henrietta (Kochart) and Homer Phillip Morgan. Raymond served in the U.S. Army Air Force during WWII. After his service he moved to Milwaukee where he attended Milwaukee School of Engineering for two years. Ray began working for Johnson Control Service and was transferred to OKC where he met the love of his life, JoAnn Youngblood. Raymond and JoAnn were married February 7, 1959. After transfers to Great Falls, Montana and Houston, Texas, Raymond and JoAnn settled in Bethany, OK. Raymond retired in 1988 after 34 years with Johnson Controls. Raymond and JoAnn were active in the OKC Retirees Travel Club. Ray enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, puttering in his garage and being with his family.
His quiet humor and strength will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Lola Harvey.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, JoAnn, of the home; 2 children, Phillip Morgan and wife Ronda, Yukon, and Cheryl Cowden and husband Joe Mark, Shawnee; 5 grandchildren, Cory, Lacy, and Chelsea Morgan, and Brad and Zac Cowden; and the blessing of a host of other loved family and friends.
Services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, June 22, 2007, at Bill Merritt's Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at
Resurrection Memorial
Cemetery.
