Rayford Lee Murphy, 46 of Tulsa, died Friday, October 20, 2000 in Midwest City, Oklahoma. He was born on December 27, 1953 in Okmulgee to Doc and Essie( Cage) Murphy.

He attended schools and grew up in Okmulgee, graduating from Okmulgee High School class of 1974. He had lived in Tulsa since 1984.

Survivors include his children; Danisha Murphy of Shreveport, LA., Derek, Antonio, Antwon and Sherelle Murphy, all of Oklahoma City; his brothers, Melvin Murphy of Pomona, CA., Jack Murphy of Tulsa, Frank Murphy of Midwest City, Willie Murphy of Henryetta, Eddie Murphy of Tulsa and Ronald Murphy of Oklahoma City, Sisters: Lucille White of Tulsa, Betty Thomas of Lucern Valley, CA., Alberta Hill of Midwest City, Linda Hammon of Okmulgee and Carolyn Watson of Oklahoma City; 11 grandchildren and host of other relatives and friends.

Services of Memory will be Saturday, Oct. 28 at 2 p.m., in the Eastside Baptist Church, Third and Osage in Okmulgee, Bishop George Hil, pastor of the Church of God in Christ of Oklahoma City will officiate. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Okmulgee under direction of the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., of Okmulgee.

Visitation will be Friday from 10 a.m., until 7 p.m., in the Chapel of Peace at the funeral home.
