Margaret Heloise Newton, 90, went to be with the Lord on May 17. She was born in Oklahoma City, Okla., to Buelah Heloise Hedges Baker and Thomas Everett Baker of Oklahoma City in 1918. She was married to Donald B. Newton of St. Paul, Minn., on Dec. 20, 1941, in Mason City, Iowa. They made their home in the Minneapolis area and Southern California, where he was employed by North Western Aeronautical and Lockheed. In 1951, they moved to Atascadero, where they operated Newton’s Nut Bowl and Nut Bowl Candies, through the late 1950s. They moved to Paso Robles in 1985.

Margaret Heloise was a dedicated homemaker and mother, and a member of the Paso Robles Christian Church and the Atascadero Christian Church.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Donald; two sons, Don Newton and his wife, Susan, of San Miguel and Tom Newton and his wife, Karen, of Eureka; four grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Feuerborn Family Funeral Services of Garnett, Kansas. Burial will be in the Hedges family plot in the Garnett Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, it is requested that a donation may be made to the Trinity Lutheran School.
