J.W. Nokes, 87, passed away on June 23, 2009. J.W. was born July 29, 1921 in Hope, Arkansas to George William and Floy Alice (Robinson) Nokes. J.W. proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. J.W. had a great passion for Rodeos and was a member of the P.R.C.A. He was passionate about spending time with his family and taking care of his donkeys. He also enjoyed selling and trading as well as fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 56 years, Donna; siblings, Bruce, Enos, J.D. (his twin), Ranth, Jackie and Neoma. Survivors include his children, Nita Garner, Johnny Mulhall, J.W. Nokes, Jr. and wife Brenda, Pamela Peters, Regina Carr and husband Alford, Janice Wagoner and husband Keith; grandchildren, Linda Ferree and husband Danny, Phillip Walker, Shane Nokes, Crystal Lorenz and husband Chris, Jessica Guerrero and husband Dick, Jimmy Peters, Stephanie Wagoner; great-grandchildren, Aaron and Justin Ferree, Colton Nokes, Cade Lorenz, Gracelyn Wagoner; siblings, George Nokes, Willadean Hopper, Juanita Lark; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. J.W. was last known to be living in Choctaw, Oklahoma.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 26, 2009 at the Bill Eisenhour Northeast Chapel. Interment will follow at Arlington Memory Gardens.
