Odelberg, Uneeta Jean, on July 16, 1996, after 71 beautiful years, peacefully slipped away from family and friends and went to be with her Lord. Uneeta was born September 25, 1924, to Ewell and Effie Lusk. Along with 2 sisters and a brother, she spent her childhood in Rochester, Tx. As a young college student, she worked in Wichita Falls as a Western Union operator, and spent the war years in Dallas.

She met her husband, Willis Odelberg, during the fall of 1942. They were married November 26, 1945, after the end of hostilities. Uneeta and Willis celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last November. On December 24, 1951, Uneeta became the mother of Tim and, on October 14, 1954, the mother of Jana. Jean, as Uneeta was more familiarly known by her Oklahoma friends, was a longtime member of Dickson Baptist Church where she served as a teacher, a pianist, and the church librarian. Jean worked for many years as a librarian at Star-Spencer High School where she amassed a multitude of friends among the students and faculty.

Uneeta Jean is survived by her husband, Willis, of the home; a son, Tim of Oklahoma City; a daughter, Jana of Oklahoma City; and 2 grandchildren, Jeremy and Crystal Mendez of Oklahoma City. Survivors also include 2 sisters, Faye Simpson of Rule, Tx. and Carolyn Reynolds of Haskell, Tx. Also among survivors are Cathy Odelberg, daughter-in-law; Gilbert Mendez, son-in-law; James Reynolds of Haskell, Tx, Wayne and Norma Pace; Emil and Ernestine Odelberg, David and Martha Odelberg, and Mae Lee, all of Grand Junction, Co; Ella Harris of Seattle, Wa, Elwood and Elizabeth Walz of Richomd, Ca., Florence Grossman of Sacramento, Ca, Hans and Anni Odelberg of Camp Verde, Az. These surviviors along with Aunt Bede of Dallas and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews, must now adjust to a void that cannot be filled. Funeral services to be at Dickson Baptist Church, Oklahoma City, Ok, Saturday, 10:00 a.m.
