Frances M. O’Gwin

Frances Marion O’Gwin, 68, of 1115 NW 5, died Friday at his home. Services are pending with Garrison Funeral Home.

A native of Pauls Valley, O’Gwin had been employed by the Oklahoma City Bus Company for 38 years until his retirement 2 years ago. He was a member of St Luke’s Methodist church.

Surviving are his wife Harriet, of the home; two brothers, C N, Mesa, Arizona and Charlie, Bakersfield, Ca.

Services will be at 4 pm Monday at Garrison Funeral Home for Frances Marion O’Gwin, 68, of 1115 NW 5, who died Friday. Burial will be at 1 pm Tuesday at Sedan, Kan.

O’Gwin was born at Pauls Valley and had been employed by the Oklahoma City Bus Co for 38 years until his retirement 2 years ago. He was a member of St Luke’s Methodist church.

1923 Oklahoma City city directory: O’Gwin, Frank M (Harriett), mtrmn, Okla Rlwy Co, rms 1122 W 2nd. Frank and Harriet were probably married in Oklahoma County 1922-1923.

Frank is listed in the city directories through 1960; after that Harriet is widow. Harriet appears in the directories until 1969. She is not in the 1970 directory. Their home all of their married life, except at the very beginning, was shown as 1115 NW 5th.

In Pottawatomie County, Frank first married Geneva Dowdy. Date not given (it is an index only), but source is Marriage Record Book 16, page 278.

Geneva Dowdy O’Gwin died and is buried in Fairview Cemetery, Shawnee, Pottawatomie Co, Oklahoma. The compiled cemetery record entry is this: Block 5B, Row 6, Geneva O’Gwin Dowdy b 1891, d 1919. [Note that transcriber reversed surnames]
