Phyllis L. Rhodes was born April 20, 1917 in Rockport, West Virginia to Gola and Glenna (Gant) O'Brien. She graduated from Oilton High School in 1934 as Salutatorian. She married Robert Rhodes on May 19, 1935 in Cushing, Oklahoma. She was an Oklahoma City resident for 40 years and a member of New Hope Methodist Church. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert Rhodes on May 4, 1995, and her brother Frank O'Brien. 

She is survived by her daughter Peggy Weise and husband Edward, her son Michael Rhodes and wife Elena Boiko, grandson Todd Smith, granddaughter Tonni Talley and husband Kenneth, and one great-grandson Kenneth Talley Jr. Services will be held 10 AM Saturday, August 12, 2006 at the Vondel L. Smith and Son Mortuary North Colonial Chapel. Dr. Marvin Hudson will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Denning Crowe, Paul Stillwell, Rick Earnest, Don Gross, Taylor Gross, and Robert T. Smith. 

Interment will follow at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery. Donations can be made to Vista Care Hospice, Temple, TX 76504, 254-742-3500.
