August 10, 2006 Richardson, 83, of McLoud
was born Feb. 14, 1923, in Sardis. She was the daughter of
Marvin and Sarah Lula (Shaw) Cummings. She left this life on
Aug. 8, 2006 in Shawnee. Reba graduated from Haileyville High
School, in Haileyville. She married Harold W. “Buddy” Richardson
on Oct. 19, 1940 and they lived in Sardis where they owned and
operated a grocery store. In 1947, they moved to the McLoud and
Newalla area, where they also owned and operated a grocery
store. Reba worked at Bird’s Department Store, Seikel’s and was
a nurse for Dr. Shockey at his clinic in Harrah. She was a
member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church, McLoud. Reba enjoyed
fishing, camping, reading and loved spending time with her
children and grandchildren.
Reba was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and
two sisters, Lela Cummings and Lee Henderson.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Delbert and
Sandra Richardson, Bethel Acres, and Gene and Patricia
Richardson, Newalla; one daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and
Gary Lynch, Bethel Acres; 11 grandchildren, Dale and Cindy
Richardson, Susie and Steve Mauldin, Lisa Richardson, J. T. and
Deanna Langham, Donald Huggins, Lorne Richardson, Anita and
Terry Patterson, Gary Brian Lynch, Rusty and Jennifer Lynch,
Dusty and Lisa Lynch and Michael Ray Lynch; 16
great-grandchildren, Leslie, Erin and Tyler Richardson, Nicole
and Ethan Waggoner, Matthew and Jacob Mauldin, Brooke and Blake
Wolfe, Ivy Langham, Gabe Huggins, Tera and Hailey Patterson,
Ramzie Lynch and Michael Dean and Dustin Lynch; and many other
relatives and friends.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 11, 2006 at the
Asa Smith Memorial Chapel in Harrah. Rev. Bill Derrick
officiated. Interment followed at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in
Newalla. Services were under the direction of Smith~Parks
Funeral Service in Harrah.
